India beat West Indies by 257 runs and clean sweep the series 2-0

Yet again, India registered a victory by 257 runs against West Indies in the second test match and clean sweep the series 2-0. Started from the T20Is, then ODIs and now Test Matches, West Indies never convinced to fight against the Indian Team.

On Monday, when West Indies resumed their inning at 45-2, they thought of putting some more fight into the game but got bundled out for 210 runs in the second session of the fourth day. Only Shamarh Brooks scored a fifty from the Caribbean’s side. It was also the only half century in the 2-match series from their side.

With this win, now India top the tally of ICC World Test Championship with 120 points from 2 matches.

On Day 4, when Caribbean’s overnight unbeaten batsmen came into the crease, they got their first breakthrough in the form of retired hurt. Bravo was hit on the head by Bumrah in the final session of Day 3 and it got worsened when he resumed his batting on Monday. After that, Jermaine Blackwood replaced him to the Batting lineup as the concussion substitute under the new concussion rules.

After Bravo left the field, Chase joined Brooks and tried to negotiate the loss as much as possible but sooner, Jadeja got him out leg before on the score of 12 only. Just after a over, Shimron Hetmyer also gave a dolly to Agarwal in Ishant’s bowling on the score of 1. Then after, Brooks and Blackwood tried to sail the ship slowly and steadily but Kohli brought one of their favourite bowler, Bumrah and as per the expectations, he provided a breakthrough by removing Blackwood for 38.

It was just a matter of time and the whole West Indies batting lineup collapsed at 210. Holder also contributed with the bat and got bowled as the last wicket on the score of 39 and India won the match by 257 runs. Shami and Jadeja took 3 wickets each in the second inning, Bumrah picked up 7 wickets in the match including his 6-wickets in the first inning.

Hanuma Vihari, who scored 111 and 53 in first & second innings respectively, has been awarded Man of the Match. He was also the highest run-scorer of the series with 289 runs at an average of 89.33 which included one century and two half-centuries.

With this win, Virat Kohli became the most successful captain with 28 victories and crossed MS Dhoni’s record of 27 wins as the Test Captain.

India remained unbeaten on this tour by winning the T20I (3-0). ODIs (2-0) and finally, the test series (2-0). India also became the first team to win the test series in ICC World Test Championship.
